HE SAYS SHE SAYS: UTAH’S HOGLE ZOO
she says: i won’t lie… after spending time at the san diego zoo and safari park, the hogle zoo seems pretty wimpy in comparison.
lucky for us, we actually went to the hogle zoo first. so we had no idea what it was lacking. in fact, up to that point, it was one of our favorite days spent together. honest. we have it on video.
He says: Whoever said those who underachieve can’t be happy? You can, you just have to be ignorant as well. Maybe that is not the best trade off…
anyway, here are some of the things we liked best:
the bird show. i can’t tell you how hilarious and awesome it was. so glad we didn’t miss it.
I don’t remember it being hilarious… I guess it is in the eye of the beholder. I do remember thinking the birds were going to poop on me or someone else and wondering how I could get the sparrows that land on my balcony to do the same thing… Still thinking about that one.
really? you didn’t think it was funny? i thought we both loved the bird show! oh well.
also, we purchased (I purchased) the adventure plus pack tickets, which gave us a tickets to ride the train around a part of the zoo as well as tickets for the carousel. i know we are grown adults, but it is scientifically proven that it is impossible to be unhappy when you get to ride a train and carousel in the same day.
When anyone says that something is scientifically proven, I totally disregard anything that follows. We all know that in science nothing is “proven”. Theories are only supported or not supported. Now as to grown adults… I would like to believe that I still have some growing to do (no Jana not outward… such an old joke). Shouldn’t we just say adults who have reached their full stature or adults who are not getting any taller? Grown sounds so weird. Like we were grown in a test tube or something.
Last but not least, girls love carousels, guys get dizzy.
whatever. you totally loved it.

This is cute. I haven’t been in a zoo for a while. Maybe me and hubs should check some out when we move to Oregon for the summer.
PS. Spencer looks different in these pictures. It’s probably the hair.
@ Alyssa,
I am from Oregon and I would like to congratulate you on the best decision of your life… moving to Oregon. We have a wonderful zoo in the Portland zoo. When you decide to go let us know and I will give you the secrets of the Oregon zoo experience. Actually, I don’t know anything. Go have fun.
Yes I do look different. It is mostly the neck beard. That will get you every time. Make sure you don’t have one, it will make you look different too.
