i don’t know if you’ve heard, but the LDS church is doing a major motion picture of the new testament, and spencer is playing the apostle john!
originally they had asked him to be james [the apostle], but john is way cooler because he wrote his very own book in the new testament, AND he is known as john the beloved [even though i'm pretty sure john made up that title himself].
along with the role change came a shave! after 5.5 months of growing out the beard you see above, they asked him to shave, and i am not complaining! john is actually the only apostle with a clean-shaven face, so we will all have no problem picking him out from the line-up.

My kids think it is so exciting that they are going to have a famous uncle!
I know you shouldn’t have favorites, but John is mine. There are actually quotes in the scripture from other disciples that called John the well loved or beloved, so I don’t think he made that up. I love John because he never left the Savior during his trial & crucifixion. It speaks volumes about his character that the Savior intrusted him with the care of his mother. So, great job Spencer! Plus, I’m glad to hear about the shave. That will make it nice for those wedding photos.
Um, I kind of think long hair is awesome… I frequently request Sam to skip haircuts; and I think Spencer pulls it off. PS. Your blog is one of my top 5. Love reading what you have to say. xo
