i don’t know if you’ve heard, but the LDS church is doing a major motion picture of the new testament, and spencer is playing the apostle john!

originally they had asked him to be james [the apostle], but john is way cooler because he wrote his very own book in the new testament, AND he is known as john the beloved [even though i'm pretty sure john made up that title himself].

along with the role change came a shave! after 5.5 months of growing out the beard you see above, they asked him to shave, and i am not complaining! john is actually the only apostle with a clean-shaven face, so we will all have no problem picking him out from the line-up.

a few months ago, while visiting spencer’s family in oregon, we found a little surprise peeking out from the top of the staircase: spencer’s niece, gracie.

naturally, spencer’s sister went to pick her up to take her to a proper resting place. and, naturally, spencer made her wait until we snapped a few photos. aren’t we going to make wonderful parents?

on monday, i was so busy making sure this handsome man had a happy day that i forgot to tell you all to wish him a happy birthday! [i did make sure a few things went wrong though, or else i would have a hard time topping myself next year].

i won’t tell you how old he is [because that would be rude], but it starts with a 3 and end with an 0.

spencer – i’m sure your first 30 years were great, but i promise the next 30 will be even better! i love you this much [insert jana stretching her arms as wide as humanly possible here]!

ps. i know i said it already, but isn’t he so so SO good-looking? i can’t wait until october when the beard and hair are gone and i can have my fiance back!

i think in my old age i have turned into a big softy.

there have been times where i have been states away from spencer for a month or so and managed just fine. but, last month, spencer stayed just a week and a half in oregon without me and i just about died. really. it was touch and go there for a minute.

i think i will send the inventors of video-chat a thank you note.

ps. i learned how to take screenshots on my computer, and it has changed my life.
